Going on a blind date, whether as a result of a dating website or a well-intentioned friend, can be nerve wracking either way. Make the first date short and simple from the start. This way there is no pressure if its not working out, and all you discussed was having a couple of drinks. Obviously, if you hit it off, then see how the evening progresses. Meeting for a coffee, a few drinks or a lunch date are good short date ideas.
Be polite and remember your manners, a please, thank-you and a smile go a long way. Even if things are not working out remain polite. The last thing anyone looking for a date needs is their name spread all over the Internet saying how horrid they are.
